I am not Jasmine. I am Aladdin.

He let her drive the truck? He never let me drive the truck!

Basically, Taylor Swift is the most badass person ever. I wish I had her balls so I could break into my ex-boyfriend's house to spit in his listerine (and I did date a redneck heartbreak who's really bad at lying who never let me drive his car). Anyway, TaySwift is a genius and I love her.

I love Wiz Khalifa. Since I'm from Pennsylvania, I feel like he's my hometown rapper (even though he's from Pittsburgh and I'm from Philly). Whatever. I think this video is great, too. I like rap videos where it's just a group of people wylin out.

RIP Aaliyah

I got drunk off of Four Loko last night and went on a rant about how I miss Aaliyah. I said that she gave great advice ("first you don't succeed, dust yourself off and try again"). I need to stop drinking.

#1 song in Europe right now.

I don't know, but it's fucking great.

I came to shake my ass...

Three Six Mafia is so good, they won an Oscar. Some of their songs are ridiculous/hilarious, but still good. This is one of them. I came to shake my ass, so...can I shake my ass?

I just keep stumbling upon great tracks tonight

Bun B motherfucker. I personally hate Rick Ross (see: corrections officer. YOU CAN'T BE A RAPPER IF YOU USED TO BE A COP) but I love B.M.F. and this is such a dope remix/freestyle. Nothing less is to be expected from Bun B.

My friend Roach showed me this song. I really love when Lloyd jumps on tracks like this. Enjoy:

Easily the best T. Swift track off her new album

The last song I posted was weirdly slowed down. Idk, but this is the real deal. Enjoy (I know you all will):

HOLY SHIT WAKA

I really couldn't help myself. This song is so fucking good. I love Waka probably more than I love any other rapper.

Soulja Boy is actually a sick rapper. This song samples "Youth Dem Cold" by Richie Spice. Enjoy:

Yes!!!

Katy B

So fucking dope.

Tonight's Jam

I consider myself a dubstep fan but I've become disenchanted because most people who listen to it are obnoxious, tasteless douchebags. And the "DJs". But Datsik is sick. Enjoy:

In honor of my brother being in New Orleans this weekend...

Do the nolia clap! This is a New Orleans classic.

Jam of the day

I'm posting this from a school computer so I hope I don't get in trouble (I go to a Jesuit college, so "bust dat pussy open" could be against Catholic ideals). This song is really great.

Another one for tonight

As a huge G-Unit fan, I love Lloyd Banks. I think the collabo with Lloyd is perfect for this song. I first heard this song on my favorite TV channel, MTV Jams, over the summer and I'm still listening to it. The lyrics are disgustingly misogynistic/sexist, but what can you expect from rap? I mean, it's not exactly a feminist's favorite genre. But whatever. The beat in this song is so sick, I wanna throw up. Enjoy:

Sleazy

Ok, I know Ke$ha is terrible, but some of her songs are really catchy and good club jams. This is her new song and I personally love it. I don't listen to Ke$ha for the lyrics or musical quality. I just like the beat and overall sound of her songs. Enjoy:

I really can't resist...

Yet another video that features extreme quad-riding (see earlier Eve post), but that's to be expected from the Ruff Ryders. I honestly didn't even know that Swizz Beatz was around in 2003, but he's great in this song (I thought his first song was that "she ain't got no money in the bank" disaster classic). I'm a huge DMX fan and this song is probably his best.

Ok, one more...

It's basically a well-known fact that Ciara is the most amazing R&B singer/female rapper. This was her first hit and probably one of my favorite songs of all time. Her new album drops Dec. 10th (it keeps getting pushed back!) and from what I've heard, it's amazing. Not to mention it's produced by The-Dream and Tricky Stewart, nuff said. "Goodies" is where it all started. But I have a quick question, what ever happened to Petey Pablo?!

Another Jam of the Night

I really couldn't resist posting this video right after the other one. My roommate re-introduced me to this musical gem the other day and I am so grateful. Eve is the original ride or die chick and this song encompasses how badass she really is. I'm a huge fan of how Eve and Gwen Stefani (and their crew) drive INTO a hotel on 4-wheelers. They crash a stuffy, rich old person party and make them bump to the jam. Excellent.

First Jam

So I wanted to have a blog where I post songs that I like and I think other people will like too. Some are current, some are old, but almost all of them are hip-hop or pop. Cause that's what I like to jam to. Today's jam is "Bling Bling" by Juvenile and Lil Wayne. This is the first reference to jewelery as "bling bling" and one of Lil Wayne's first hits. I live in New Orleans (Uptown represent) and I hear "y'eardme" and "wodie" on a daily basis, mostly because I live in kind of a rough neighborhood. Anyway, here it is:
